Building Temples to the Gods

i feel it is likely that we were taught this preoccupation, by those who in our history called themselves the 'gods'. our culture(west or east, any culture that has survived into modernity, even many that did not. only what we now call 'primitive' or indigenous cultures seem to have mostly escaped this influence, though not entirely) is based upon such preoccupations, and it is through this that we have been kept under control. even in short lifetimes, people will unite and rebel against cruelty and unfairness, if fear of death(even when death is a mystery) is the only consequence, but fear of eternal damnation is a harder pill to swallow.  the Architect of the Universe would have no need of such self-validation as worship, sacrifice or total servitude and submission, these are things that human minds desire, and it is my feeling that very human minds impregnated our culture with them.
